This year there will be no fewer than 13 breweries, for a total of 92 labels to discover and taste, with beers from the Marche region and several other Italian regions, including Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Umbria. Among the new entries there will also be a mango IPA presented for the first time during the event.
But Birra d’Augusto is not just about beer: the program also brings Tuscan meats, Abruzzo arrosticini, Puglian bombette, gnocco fritto, hamburgers, fried specialties, fish sandwiches and grilled sardines to the Pincio, without forgetting vegan options and desserts made with beer and Moretta.
This is where the festival becomes even more exciting. Ten concerts are scheduled over the five days, with two live music events every evening and tribute bands dedicated to some of the biggest names in contemporary Italian music, from Annalisa to Francesco Gabbani, as well as Jovanotti and Pinguini Tattici Nucleari.
And what about Ferragosto? It will be a truly special evening, with the Summer Beer Party transforming the Pincio into a kind of urban beach, with sunbeds, deckchairs, beach umbrellas, inflatables and music. Dj Wolf and Jovanotti Fortunati will provide the soundtrack.
Absolutely! And this is precisely one of the most interesting features of the event: you don’t need to be a beer expert to have fun. The program is designed for different audiences and also includes activities for children, with entertainment and games, as well as cultural events and initiatives for all ages.
On August 14, for example, beer culture will also take center stage with the presentation of the book “Una birra lunga un anno”, while on August 16 there will be space for homebrewers with the Domus Birrae Contest. It is therefore a festival that combines taste, music, curiosity and socializing, all in the particularly charming setting of the Pincio.
