Among the hotels in Fano, the Hotel CasaDei prides itself on being one of the most; appreciated 3-star hotels in the Marches for hospitality, services and location (practically one of the few hotels overlooking the sea in Fano).
Christmas is just a month away, and here in the Marche something happens that instantly puts you in a good mood: villages light up, squares smell of cinnamon and chocolate, and every weekend becomes an opportunity to discover new Christmas markets. This week we take you through some of the most enchanting events; next week more gems will arrive to continue your festive tour.
Until Sunday, January 11th 2026, Piazza Arringo in Ascoli Piceno transforms once again into a Christmas movie set. Here you can ice-skate surrounded by historic buildings, with music echoing through the travertine façades and the scent of mulled wine drifting from the small wooden chalets of the Christmas Village. Every day becomes a show: events, live music, children's entertainment and markets full of handcrafted products and gift ideas.
Macerata lights up with one of the longest-running and most beloved Christmas markets in the Marche: the “Il Barattolo” Christmas Market, celebrating an important anniversary this year. Across the squares and porticoes of the historic centre — from the loggia of Palazzo degli Studi to Piazza della Libertà, all the way to Galleria Scipione — you’ll find a world of artistic crafts, handmade decorations, small antiques, collectibles, vinyls, books, vintage treasures, unique objects and local products. It’s a market that constantly changes, because each day brings different exhibitors and new ideas. It will take place on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 December for the Feast of the Immaculate, and again on Sunday 14 and Sunday 21. Perfect if you're looking for a gift with a real story behind it.
Candelara, in the hills near Pesaro, offers an experience you must live at least once. This year’s dates — 29 and 30 November, 6, 7, 8 December, then 13 and 14 December — bring back the magic that made this village famous throughout Italy. Here, electric lights are turned off twice each evening, for fifteen minutes each time, leaving only the warm glow of thousands of candles. The atmosphere becomes suspended, soft and silent, as if time slowed down. You’ll find over seventy wooden huts with selected crafts, beeswax creations, wrought-iron sculptures illuminated by candles, street performances with glowing stilt walkers, jugglers, musicians and traditional bagpipers. For children there’s the Elves’ Workshop, creative labs, a meeting with Santa Claus and the Candle Train travelling through the village.
If you love authentic flavours, mark Pergola on your calendar: on Saturday 6, Sunday 7 and Monday 8 December, Cioccovisciola returns — the national fair dedicated to chocolate and visciolato. It’s an explosion of sweetness and aromas filling the historic centre, with tastings, local products, workshops, music and many gift ideas. You can taste excellences like visciola wine, local cheeses, truffles, honey and Pergola DOC wine. Not far away, Corinaldo prepares for the holidays with markets and entertainment that turn the village into the perfect Christmas setting for families. During the long weekend of December 8 and the following Sundays, Via del Corso and the historic centre come alive with shows, crafts, music and warm scents. The Castle of Santa Claus welcomes children and adults with the toy factory, Santa’s house, the post office, creative labs and the iconic Christmas playlist accompanying the entire route.
