The Fano Centrale Festival began in 2009 with the aim of promoting photography and contemporary art. During the festival, you'll have the opportunity to attend exhibitions, conversations with artists, and guided tours, fully immersing yourself in the world of contemporary imagery.
One of the aspects that has always characterized the Fano Centrale Festival is its focus on young artists. Through an international open call, sixteen artists under 30 have been selected in recent months to exhibit their works, offering an innovative and unprecedented perspective on photography and video art. Alongside them, established artists like Adriano Altamira will present their creations, creating a stimulating dialogue between different generations of creatives.
The festival offers a varied program that includes exhibitions, round tables, book presentations, and installations. Among the must-see events, we highlight the solo exhibition of Adriano Altamira “Seen by Chance” and the collective exhibitions of the selected young artists. There will also be conversations with curators and artists, such as those with Matteo Girola and Gianluca Vincenzetti, who will delve into their installations “Light of My Eyes” and “Light // Flesh // Flux.” The festival will conclude with the presentation of the catalog “Central Photography,” which collects works acquired by the Municipality of Fano, offering a view of the Marche territory through the lens of contemporary authors.
